Eric R. Eaton is author of Bugwatching: The Art, Joy, and Importance of Observing Insects, plus Insectpedia: A Brief Compendium of Insect Lore, and Wasps: The Astonishing Diversity of a Misunderstood Insect, all from Princeton University Press. He is also lead author of the Kaufman Field Guide to Insects of North America, and co-author of Insects Did It First, with Gregory S. Paulson. Eric has published numerous articles in popular publications such as Birds & Blooms, Natural History, Ranger Rick, Orion, Missouri Conservationist, and Colorado Gardener. He runs the blogs Bug Eric and Sense of Misplaced, and is known far and wide as "Bug Eric" on the internet, where he enjoys legions of Facebook and Bluesky followers. Eric has lived in Portland, Oregon, Cincinnati, Ohio, Tucson, Arizona, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He currently lives in Leavenworth, Kansas (voluntarily) with his partner, Heidi.
